The People's Fort
The fort lies farther north than almost any other settlement in the entire kingdom, and is protected by the land from all directions save the south. To the east lies a great lake, and to the north and west are monstrous mountains. Even the south is difficult to pass through, especially for foreigners who are ill-accustomed to such large amounts of snow and ice.
The fort itself is made mostly of wood, though a small commander’s tower made of ice lies on a strip of land jutting into the lake. It is whispered that the tower is made of the same never-melting ice that the castle in Ishnu is composed of. The only other non-wooden structure is the gardens, which in standard northern style, have a great ceiling of fortified glass, as to prevent the crops from dying in the snow, and to help maximize the amount of light they can get. However, the diet of the order usually consists mostly of meat, as the food only grows for very small parts of the year.
