Songs of the Seven
Songwood is a prosperous port in Silverfrost. It sits on the Bleeding Isle, upon the Calm Sea. The Isle takes its name for the trees that grow upon it, which expel a thick red sap when cut. These huge black trees are the best type of wood to create instruments from, and wealthy courts throughout the world seek ownership of instruments made from these trees.
To capitalize on this, Songwood has sprouted many institutions to secure their position as the premier supplier of bleeding trees. The city is full of instrument makers, amphitheaters and colleges, which show the world of it’s musical prowess. The harbor is even named the “Melody Harbor,” and has a stage in it. Trade is rich, and people make money selling much more than just instruments. Honey and Syrups from the black trees are especially rich and tasty, and some believe that they have magical powers. The clothing made by the seamstresses of Songwood is said to be especially comfortable and beautiful, if somewhat flamboyant. In addition, one can hunt small game with great ease on the Bleeding Isle.
